(trailer review) - Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

(TEASER TRAILER)

So, we have an official trailer for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and as I go to review it, I think back to when I was first introduced to him. You see, I think I was first introduced to superheroes by having a DC The Falcon figurine when I was maybe, four years old? But movies? It had to be Michael Keaton as Batman. My cousin had The Batman (1989) on VHS and I watched that movie over and over and over. I was a fan of Michael Keaton the actor. My cousin was too. So, to have Michael Keaton in something else called Beetlejuice, of course, we had to watch it. very different to Batman but funny, creepy and in some places, scary for my little mind. This trailer looks like it continues exactly where the last one left off all those years ago as it seems they have captured the crazy tone to this weird and wonderful, cult film.

This trailer shows a little more than the teaser trailer and what we get here is pure greatness. From the uttered lines, "Death is hard"..."sometimes I think life is harder", what a statement! Morbid sense of perspective that reminds me of something I believe Wednesday Addams would say, the irony... But as soon as Astrid says the name 3 times despite being told specially not to, Beetlejuice's entrance is grand! And from that moment chaos ensues, just like it should when The Juice is Loose. This trailer makes me smile and is exactly (if I thought about it, considering how much time has passed) what a Beetlejuice film would/should be like. A mischievous ghoul always causing trouble. Let's just hope this is the Top Gun: Maverick to the Top Gun than the Coming 2 America to Coming to America.

(trailer review) - Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

Have you seen Beetlejuice before? The first Beetlejuice movie came out in 1988, one year before one of the best Batman movies from one of the best actors who has ever played as Batman, in a film directed by Tim Burton called, Batman. Seeing Michael Keaton don his suit again recently in The Flash film with Ezra Miller, was one of the best moments in comic book movie history (for fans of course). Your favourite actor, your favourite Batman, back looking great. But this is Beetlejuice, one of the wildest, comedy-horrors from over 3 decades ago. The first movie is almost 40 years old and they want to go back to this movie and I am guessing, try to make a franchise out of it, similar to what they are trying to do with Top Gun among many many others. I could not tell you the last time I watched this movie, maybe on VHS, but the film is creepy and funny or at least it was creepy for me when I watched it many moons ago. However as I have not watched it in such a long time, I am not sure if it holds up, so a sequel might be...just MIGHT BE, a little, to late?

This is a teaser trailer and it does not show us much at all. What I will say is, what they showed, the mini town set reminded me of the first film, I remembered that. I believe that is in the attick of the house. Other than the red bridge reminding me of the IT movie, in terms of memorabilia, the model town set was just about it. Seeing Winona Ryder, cool, I guess but I think I just need to re-watch the first movie and also see a better trailer. This one is not terrible, but it just doed not show anything, especially as it has been nearly 40 years, show us something, other than Michael Keaton in the Beetlejuice outfit. I love the line though, "The Juice Is Loose'. Also, the marketing is amazing, like...if you know how it works, the title alone is simply great. Let's just hope the second trailer is better and that we are not just reviving movies from many years ago just to make a sequel nobody has asked for and to do a bad job with it.

(trailer review) - Argylle

I try to keep my ear to the ground when it comes to movies, actors, what is coming out, who is involved in what, when etc and while I think I am doing a decent-to-okay job, something exciting sometimes slips past my radar that leaves me surprised. This trailer for Argylle is something I never even heard of, but with this cast, wow! With the writers and actors strike of recent, things have been fairly quiet because nobody could talk about any projects coming up, if they were supporting the guild, but I feel like, as soon as they came to some sort of tentative agreement, the floodgates have opened and BOOM, trailers after trailers after trailers have dropped! Netflix, for a start... Check my reviews on what they are up to! But I thought I would have heard something about this movie considering a lot of talk in recent months have centred around Henry Cavill due to his role in Black Adam etc.

This trailer definitely gives me a Kingsman/Man from U.N.C.L.E/Bullet Train vibes and I found Bullet Train soo entertaining and wild. Clever writing, brilliant acting, clever use of the camera and when everything seems to be hitting on all cylinders, sometimes you can have a really great and entertaining film. For example, a few moments in this trailer made me smile or laugh, for example; when John Cena's character took the woman off of the bike as she was riding it, brilliant! The moment Sam Rockwell opened his mouth on the train to Bryce Dallas Howard (I knew it was him) and then the fight ensues, excellent!  Seeing Samual L. Jackson, was a little bit of a roll your eyes moment for me, of course he would be in this movie, of course. I love me some Samuel L. Jackson but his presence did not surprise me. Seeing Sophia Boutella as well as Bryan Cranston, already I am highly interested, not to mention Superman himself, Henry Cavill and Catherine O'Hara. The premise from what I can gather from the trailer, a woman writing a novel plays out actions with real people in real life, so someone wants to kidnap her to help them to achieve their goal. Interesting indeed. This already looks great, nothing else needs to be done to sell me any more.
