For anyone out of the loop on what this is and why it exists: welcome to the final entry in the Wanda Maximoff and Vision trilogy. It all kicked off with Vision’s death in Avengers: Infinity War, which gave us WandaVision—still widely regarded as the crown jewel of post-Endgame MCU television. That hit spun off into Agatha All Along, another solid entry that expanded the lore, kept fans hooked, and stood tall against Marvel's recent TV slate. Now comes VisionQuest, and so far, it’s just as trippy, quirky, and off-center as its predecessors. Yet, there’s a surprisingly grounded core to it all, elevated by top-tier storytelling and standout performances from Paul Bettany and James Spader.
Episode 1
We find the reconstructed Vision hard at work, attempting to process his own existence and purpose. His "mindscape" is now packed with former Tony Stark AIs helping him navigate human interaction and everyday logic—except Ultron is lurking in that headspace, too. Elsewhere, a mercenary named Paladin gets hired by a mysterious figure to eliminate Vision. Meanwhile, a teenager named Thomas and his friend get caught mid-hustle by Paladin, just as an anonymous signal transmits directly into Vision’s mind.
Episode 2
While in police custody, Thomas undergoes a psychiatric evaluation where he reveals he doesn't believe his own memories are real. To flush Vision out, Paladin uses Thomas as bait in a blatant trap. Trying to understand if Thomas is Vision's son or not, Vision takes the bait, forcing the two to team up to escape—a bid for freedom that leaves Vision critically damaged.
