(trailer review) - Old

M. Night is a director who has had his ups and downs in movie directing going from the hottest name in the game to having a knickname "The Shamhammer" for the awful movies he came out with after being such a hot commodity.  Having somewhat regained a little elevation of recent due to films like The Visit, Split and a few others, M. Night is somewhat in the good graces of some movie-goers or should I say, the public perception of him and I guess we are slowly giving him a chance, you know?  Because The Happening, The Last Airbender and After Earth were...yeah. This trailer looks good! People go to a beach and start to rapidly age.  The tension, the suspense.  It's another psychological thriller from him and I'm just hoping this is a more The 6th Sense, Signs or Unbreakable (films that I have seen) than a The Happening, you know, because he is slowly back on a rise and although Glass was decent, it was nowhere close to the level Split was and he is a capable director.

(trailer review) - Infinite

I had no idea this film was coming out.  I literally stumbled upon it when I went looking for the trailer 'Old' by M. Night.  I saw Wahlberg and instantly thought, "Is he not in the new Uncharted movie, what is this?" So I decided to watch it and here we are. I'm not too sure about this movie at all.  The trailer starts off well and then you have a sequence with these cars driving through things and essentially, that's it.  The plot sounds like something we have seen a thousand times, so I'm hoping for more, especially as we have the great Chiwetel Ejiofor with a great accent.  It reminds me of Bourne Identity and for some reason The Highlander and maybe a touch of The Old Guard.  It's like, I like it as it has promise but this trailer doesn't fully sell me on it, so we will see.  I guess Antoine Fuqua is the only real promise here. Directed by  Antoine Fuqua, Mark Wahlberg, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sophie Cookson, Jason Mantzoukas, Rupert Friend,Liz Carr

(trailer review) - Jungle Cruise

(Trailer 2) ( Official Trailer ) ( First Look Trailer ) There was another trailer I saw a little while back last year and I made an attempt to cover it, I did but I didn't have a lot to say because although we saw a trailer, i was kind of expecting more.  Then 2020 hit us with a pandemic and....silence.  Seeing this trailer though from the stories I've heard regarding this movie, this is a Disney doing another movie based on a theme park ride, the same thing they did with Pirates of the Caribbean, however this doesn't look too bad, well from this trailer of course! So, gone are the use of practical effects like in The Goonies, something of which this movie reminds me of, a cross between Indiana Jones, The Goonies, Pirates of the Caribbean and Tomb Raider (the games).  Needless to say, as I like Indiana Jones and love the Tomb Raider games, The Goonies is a childhood favourite and Pirates has been decent for the most part, there is a chance, a slim chance that I might actual

(trailer review) - The Tomorrow War

( Teaser Trailer ) This looks amazing! A quarter of the way through this trailer and I was thinking "Ohhhh, Netflix has....oh, oh it's Amazon? Well, Amazon are giving Netflix a run for their money!" This looks soo good.  Obviously it helps that I like Chris Pratt since Parks and Recreation and he is great as Starlord, but the story to this looks very decent, engaging and entertaining.  I got a little Fallout 3 vibes from it too. So, what is it really? One war in the future and over time in the past, people are being drafted to fight in this war? Or is it a long war over time, but in the past over time, people are being drafted t fight in this war?  I'm trying to get my head around it.  It seems to me it is one big war over time and in order to win, they need to keep drafting people from the past until the war is won.  And like the lady said, nobody comes back from the future, because these aliens are taking them out, so it's up to Chris Pratt, Dan, to help win the

(film review) - Godzilla vs Kong

It's funny, this is the kind of movie you would want to see in the cinema, personal taste depending of course.  But if you liked films like Pacific Rim, Pacific Rim: Uprising and the other Kong and Godzilla movies such as Skull Island and King of Monsters, then this movie is right up your street. In previous movies, the complaints with them were that, there was either too much human story and not enough monster or at the beginning, barely any monster and that is a major issue.  As the years went on, they did get better with this but always kept a human element to the films using human characters.  What's the point of seeing a movie called Godzilla, but you barely see him!? It would be different if it was a psychological thriller/horror, right? Godzilla vs. Kong is not only a cinema movie, but you see a lot of these monsters up and close and although we still have human characters, this is a whole lot better. Some time has passed since the events of Godzilla: King of Monsters an

(trailer review) - Respect

I heard about this film soo long ago I forgot it was even happening.  Now that I'm seeing the trailer, wow! I didn't watch Dreamgirls, as likely at the time it didn't appeal to me.  However whilst watching this trailer, I couldn't help but smile!  I did feel the creation of the RESPECT song felt forced but who knows how it was actually created? maybe I'm being overly judgmental.  It was a different time then and I guess I will need to think different when it comes to some things like this, but for the most part, everything I was seeing in this trailer was good and made me smile. Looks like there might be some treachery, jealousy and/or backstabbing.  Aretha trying to overcome all her obstacles and pursue her chosen career, I love it.  I recognise Tituss Burgess from 'Dolemite Is My Name' and it's always great seeing Mary J. Blige acting.  I doubt this movie will be very tragic, drama, yes but for the most part, I feel this movie will be very heartwarming

(trailer review) - Gunpowder Milkshake

So, not only is this movie somewhat ticking all the boxes in regards to race, it seems to be ticking all the right boxes to what most filmgoers want in an action movie...an action thriller at that!  I'm not going to lie to you, the title is great, but what seems to be even better, is the vibe I'm getting with this movie.  I'm getting a Charlie's Angel's vibe, but more serious.  A John Wick vibe, but more sensational.  Something like a John Wick mixed with The Hitman's Bodyguard, maybe?  Maybe I need to come back to this, but the film looks great. Although, I said ticking the boxes in regards to race, I do feel they should have done more.  But these days these things seem to be heavy handed so I'm not sure if I even want that any more, unless it IS in fact woven into the story as there seems to be a world with secret assassins.  I just mean to say, if we are seeing such a diverse group, maybe it should be throughout the film, but since I haven't seen it y

(trailer review) - Last Night in Soho

I do like me some Edgar Wright!  The first film I learned to be his was Shaun of the Dead, a favourite of mines.  To be fair, the Cornetto Trilogy is a favourite of mine.  If you are unaware of what the 'Cornetto Trilogy' is, it's a series of films that has a Cornetto in it.  Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and At Worlds End, the latter I didn't like as much as the first two.  I don't think I really made the connection that it was him who directed Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, but by the time Baby Driver came out, I knew who he was as his name circled the MCU's Ant-Man project for years.  He's still credited as the writer.  Out of the 6 films he has directed, I've seen 5 and with a talent like Edgar, I will continue to see many more, just like this one as well. This trailer starts off nice and subtle but gradually gets creepier and creepier.  I like Anya Taylor-Joy as she has been brilliant in the few things I've seen her in, but I am really intrigued by

(trailer review) - Eternals

I didn't think a Eternals trailer was going to drop until maybe July or August, but I'm guessing with the world slowly reopening, why not get the ball rolling. I think the "killer" with this property is that, it doesn't seem a lot of people are aware or familiar with the stories and/or characters of the Eternals, so this IS a gamble for Marvel, but so was Guardians of the Galaxy and even doing Ironman for that matter, but in Feige we trust, right?  I can assure you, when this film drops, I'm going to be learning about the story and characters as I know nothing about them myself. This trailer looks great but unfortunately it doesn't really tell us much other than the fact that these beings have stood aside watching all the actions of man for centuries and decided never to get involved, which then begs to question, would the film cover why they never got involved in Endgame or any other galaxy threatening situations like that.  It's kind of hard to belie

(film review) [STREAMING] - Army of the Dead

Ok, first and foremost....I really enjoyed this film.  I've mentioned in previous reviews that I didn't realise I was a Zack Snyder fan.  I hadn't realised that I really enjoyed most of if not all of his movies.  I wrote something at the time about him having made a bunch of movies and me seeing practically all of them bar 2 not realising, but having now seen this movie, Zack Snyder is a great director, he knows what his audience/fans want.  I might have even mentioned something like, "a better Michael Bay than Michael Bay".  Whilst there might be some Michael Bay fans who may disagree...come at me bro! Scott is a mercenary trying to live a normal life although there has been a Zombie pandemic that has broken out in a now controlled area of Las Vegas.  However, a casino owner,  Bly Tanaka decides with his colleague that they want to send a bunch of people through a zombie infested area to carry out a heist on his casino vault to steal $200 Million, however as craz

(trailer review) - Loki

(Miss Minutes) ( Official Trailer ) ( Exclusive Clip ) At this point you know exactly how I feel about this show right now.  Disney's Marvel machine, the cogs are going at a steady pace and I feel once this show drops, we will enter another gear into what Marvel will have in store for us.  We had Wandavision and that was simply the first initial movement, but with The Falcon and The Winter Soldier carrying us forward onto this; then Black Widow, we can safely say that Phase 4 has started and what they have planned from what we have seen soo far looks great. I want craziness and it looks like we get it.  I want pandemonium and it looks like we get it.  Give me chaotic madness with a few laughs and I'm all on board and this looks like it might just be it.  At this rate we all know Loki cannot be trusted...even Wunmi says "absolutely not!" to Loki having weapons at the end of this trailer...lol.  This is going to be a blast.  And to think they have greenlit a season 2. I

(trailer review) - Snake Eyes

Ummm.....so THIS came out of nowhere! For some reason I feel there has been a delay with this film.  You know when they are trying to get something off the ground but it's in production hell?  Maybe it's all a fabrication in my head but guess what?  I'm happy to see it! What is this, 59 seconds of ninja? Correction! 59 seconds of ninja badassary? Yup!  All American hero? Ummm, yeah ok, but a lot of us want to see ninja stuff, right?  I know it as Action Force before knowing it as G.I. Joe and if I'm honest, as a child it was all about Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes.  So with this reboot, I'm guessing...we are getting just that, Storm Shadow vs Snake Eyes! As long as it's better than Batman V Superman, I'm fully involved Directed by  Robert Schwentke and starring Henry Golding, Andrew Koji, Úrsula Corberó, Samara Weaving, Haruka Abe, Takehiro Hira & Iko Uwais

(trailer review) - Black Widow

(You Got A Plan?) ( New Trailer ) ( Final Trailer ) ( Big Game Spot Trailer ) ( Original Trailer ) Some of that Hi-Octane car chasing action is definitely what is needed in movies like this and I just hope and pray this movie is as rewarding as the Captain America: The Winter Soldier movie and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier TV Show, although very different, carries a lot of the same weight and gravitas required to deliver a tension-filled story. Black Widow has been 10 or so years in the making.  Whilst the two giants of comic book movies, DC (Detective Comics) and Marvel (Marvel Comics) battle it out on who is the better studio providing the best content and who out of the two has their first under water movie, first black lead movie, first woman lead movie, first oriental/asian lead movie, a bunch of us just want diversity and great content.  To be thoroughly entertained to come back for more.  With that said, although there are a lot of people who take sides between Marvel and DC

(trailer review) - The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard

(Trailer 2) ( Red Band Teaser )  Red Band Trailer - Please note adult themed material. ( Teaser Trailer ) The first trailer was decent and as I enjoyed it and it reminded me of the first film.  The second trailer which was the Red Band trailer wasn't that great at all.  In a comparison on how you advertise a movie trailer, those at Warner Bros who did Suicide Squad, did a great job.  Two distinct trailers.  But this trailer, damn, this trailer definitely sells me on the idea of watching this movie as it is greatly better than the first and second trailer. This trailer, not only is it different from the first but gives us the synopsis in a totally different way by at first, providing a scene that ended the last trailer by putting it in the beginning and adding to it.  A little more to the counselling scene and a little more to the "rescue scene".  "It's pronounced, Thank you".   The second trailer did not do enough to sell the audience while this one shows

(trailer review) - The Green Knight

What in holy hell is this!? I clicked on a trailer I didn't know about which was the teaser trailer and from February 2020, thought to myself upon watching it, "What the hell!?" So when I went to look for the trailer again to review it and saw a completely different trailer (the one dropped today), it left me with the the question I started this paragraph with! Just wow! British actor from Slumdog Millionaire (a film I still haven't seen for some reason) Dev Patel is a Knight in a fantasy world akin to Lord of the Rings, well he looks like a knight.  I'm all about representation so I was looking out for the black folk, but I'm totally cool with Dev, he is a great actor.  Seeing Joel Edgerton is cool and the guy from Mission Impossible too.  Dev looks great in this as a Knight and with a talking Fox? Giant People? A bark headed tree man thing wielding an Axe.  This is right up my street.  The music is great as well.  Those Giant people gave me 'Attack on Ti

(trailer review) - The Protégé

I forgot about The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard and Samuel L. Jackson being in that, so now that I've seen that trailer, reviewed it and now seeing this one, I instantly thought in my head, "Sam is doing a lot of work!" The fact of the matter is that actors can do many movies in a single year, but it just depends when they drop, so sometimes it seems like one actor is in 6 movies in a single year when really they were shot at different times over a number of years.  At first it seems wild, but it's good to keep busy, you know.  And Maggie Q, to me, just hasn't been! I have not seen her in a while and whilst I know the name, I cannot at the top of my head recall a movie she was in last.  Regardless, this looks good. I do feel Sam is a little too big of an actor so it is a little difficult to see him in one-off movies playing side characters and not think he's Samuel L. M.F. Jackson, you know? But strangely enough, I was definitely getting 'The Hitman&#

(trailer review) - Solos

First things first, what a cast! From Morgan Freeman to Constance Wu to Anthony Mackie to Nicole Beharie and Uzo Aduba.  This looks like it is going to be a great series!  It goes without saying Helen is great and British and I am off the hate-train for Anne Hathaway due to her part in Interstellar...let's not even retread that, but these are some quality actors and a lot of them with Academy Awards or Emmys. Secondly, this also comes across like another Black Mirror Episode in some instances, the San Junipero episode? I'm definitely getting that vibe from it, but also I feel this series will be touching and very emotionally triggering and also make me sad and possibly cry and maybe even smile and be happy...a whirlwind of emotions really.  Am I ready for this Anthology?  A quote from one of the characters played by Morgan Freeman, "We all feel alone in different ways and in feeling alone, somehow we are all together", damn...I felt that.  It kind of reminded me of me

(trailer review) - Venom: Let There Be Carnage

(Teaser Trailer) Here's something funny...when I reviewed the teaser trailer for this, I incorporated the newly released picture (I'm not sure why and won't do that again), but it was merely to save from doing multiple posts.  Several months later, a weekly show with almost weekly trailers have managed to give a single show nearing 6 posts or even more, like WandaVision or The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the irony.  Ha, I laugh at myself really...  Talking about laughing at ones self and multiple posts, it would seem Eddie and his multiple personalities, well split personality, The Venom seem to be "managing" with one another.  Eddie looks pretty hungover and Venom seems to be making him breakfast in a very bad way which has led me to think (as I was writing this), maybe they are not getting on and they may actually split from one another.  Venom will go one way and Eddie will go another.  I don't think the Venom can survive for long periods outside of a ho

(trailer review) - A Quiet Place II

(Final Trailer) ( Official Trailer ) ( Teaser Trailer ) To say I am gassed for this movie is a huge understatement!  Have you seen the first one?  Have you seen 'A Quiet Place?'  While everyone a few years ago kept talking about "Bird Box, Bird Box", A Quiet Place makes Bird Box look like 'Finding Nemo'. Intense, thrilling, on the edge of your seat horror we have been waiting an entire year for because it was meant to have come out in March 2020, but the Pandemic said "No!"  I've been waiting too long, I've got to watch this and this looks soo good.  John is REALLY REALLY running in that scene! Like that is fear running at its finest! None of that Tom Cruise suff...lol.  It's about time.  Cinema, here I come! Directed  by John Krasinski and starring Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, Cillian Murphy & Djimon Hounsou You can comment down below to enter in discussions. (trailer review) - Stranger Things: Season 4

Ummm...who knew? Just like that, a trailer for Stranger Things Season 4 is out and just like that, I am excited. It would seem that we are going back in time with some earlier experiments with Eleven and we might actually touch on some other children with powers. In Season 2, possibly episode 7 or 8, there was an episode that showered another character who had powers and her influence was getting Elle to break bad, but with that said, although that was a pretty lame episode, I wouldn't mind seeing some more character's like Elle and the potential stories to come from that. Directed by The Duffer Brothers and starring Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Winona Ryder, Charlie Heaton, David Harbour, Gaten Matarazzo, Sadie Sink, Finn Wolfhard & Noah Schnapp You can comment down below to enter in discussions. (film review) [STREAMING] - Without Remorse

Wallace cannot do anything wrong at the moment as the calibre of his acting seems to outshine any movies he is in.  Without Remorse is not a terrible movie, but it IS NOT something we have NOT seen before.  A man out for revenge.  What is more important or what will make these types of films stand out more, is the approach.  Let's take John Wick for example, stylish, every shot is a head shot or eight and it alludes to a grand universe with lore and background as the movies went on.  John Wick seems rich within the world it is in whilst remaining gritty and hardcore.  This movie, whilst nothing like a John Wick and thankfully, nothing like a Max Payne, Michael gives us what he can with a post credits scene hinting at more to possibly come. Senior Chief John Kelly is in the US Navy SEALs and as part of a rescue mission in Syria, but due to withheld information or the wrong intel, the captors ended up being something they weren't.  This eventually leads to all the members of the

(series review) [STREAMING] - Invincible

I would just like to start off by saying, I was never going to watch this show because I knew nothing about it.  I cannot watch what I am unaware of.  Secondly, once made aware of, I still was not going to watch this show because at first glance, it didn't really capture my attention.  However, was I soo wrong about this and couldn't be more wrong with any thoughts I had about this show.  Although the cartoon style is a little semi-realistic but as the same time, very basic, it did bother me a little BUT this show is incredible, absolutely incredible. Mark is a Teenager attending high school who lives with both parents Deborah, a real estate agent and Nolan, a book author.  Debbie is human and Nolan is an alien from a distant planet called Viltrum.  Nolan has super abilities which include Superhuman Strength, Superhuman Speed, Superhuman Stamina, Superhuman Endurance, Flight, Interstellar Travel, Enhanced Lung Capacity, Invulnerability, Enhanced Healing Factor, Decelerated Agin
