I watched the Super Mario Movie once, maybe twice, but I do remember really enjoying it. From the Teaser Trailer, it was funny, and the movie proved to be just the same. But the teaser trailer for this movie was more of an announcement, and I am guessing maybe this is the Official Trailer, but this is hilarious and gives us, the audience a bit more insight as to what is happening in this movie this time around, and maybe once again, the character of Bowser is going to be equally just as funny, like he is in the first movie.
So it starts with Bowser creating a painting, and the part that made me actually laugh out loud was the moment he grabs his hair backwards in shock and steps back, too funny. The animation of that motion was superb. Then, even funnier, we find out he is miniature in size and is talking to Mario and Luigi, and it is clear that Bowser doesn't mind Luigi, but obviously dislikes Mario with the way he greets them; it's subtle. If you notice, Mario is standing there with his back towards the castle with his arms folded. It is when Mario says his painting is trash, Bowser loses it and then apologises. What we get from the remainder of the trailer is travelling with Toad and Princess Peach, a few flashes of different worlds. There is a moment that reminded me of Mad Max and riding vehicles in a desert, in this case it is a bike, and at the end, a Princess I've never seen before with a Magic Wand taking down a mech, but more importantly, Bowser Jr. is here to rescue his dad and it looks like all hell is goinf to break loose. This looks really great and clever, so hopefully it is, I mean, they cannot fluff it up since the first one made billions!
There are several different types of trailers when it comes to movies and gaming, and for those who do not know, this is what you call an 'Announcement Trailer'. It is similar to a teaser trailer, and in some cases, they are one in the same, but this simply exists to let us, the fans, know there is a new movie on its way in the near future. Usually, with a teaser or Announcement trailer like this, we are usually a year away from the film being in the cinema, but depending on when they want to release, I can bet the summer of 2026.
This announcement shows Mario sleeping under a tree as we follow a butterfly flying in the world. We get to see the underground creatures seen in the games (I believe they are from a game, but I cannot remember which one - the original Mario Kart, I think), and we get to see the infamous fish that always jump up to bite you. And consider where we see the castle in the background, and we follow the butter, there is some teleportation because the princess's castle is a lot closer to the lake. We see some toad characters, and the butterfly flies into space, and a star comes shooting down with a "Let's go!" Yeah, let's go! But I'll wait while they prep to go...until they release the next trailer. Sidestep, isn't the music a different-sounding version of the music in Super Mario World? I've not played Galaxy, so I have no idea.
I am going, to be honest with you like I always am, but this trailer did not move the needle much for me. A lot of new scenes and imagery, but the previous trailer for me was soo much better. This trailer on the other hand was a lot funnier and I am hoping, the comedy in this third and final movie from director James Gunn is evenly levelled out with the sad and emotional themes in this movie. As I said in my last trailer reaction, the second movie seemed like everyone had a joke. How I have come to understand the characters is, Drax provides most of the laughs, but it is usually him first and foremost, followed by Peter Quill and Rocket. Now that Nebula (my favourite character) is part of the team, she also provides a little humour too, but if everyone is providing jokes, the tone and strength of the film get significantly reduced.
This trailer shows, what looks like, The High Evolutionary and a few flashbacks involving Rocket Raccoon and his possible backstory, but this trailer also seems to provide us with a lot of fake-outs. Dave Bautista is done with Guardians, but although he says a few things in this trailer, it does not seem like he will die, but there are shots of Rocket Raccoon, Peter Quill and all this talk about one last fight or being together, it does seem like a few of our loveable characters will not make it out and this will be a film that will confiscate tears from us all. I love this team and while people will forget how plucky they are, they are the team that took out the Avengers. I am going to watch this movie anyway, I just wished the trailer was better than the last one for me. Those Adam Warlock shots did not do much.

We have come a long way since the beginning of the MCU. The storytelling and craftsmanship of the MCU go without saying at this point. One could argue that phase 4 has not been great and not a lot seems to make sense. While I do not prescribe to that exactly, I do feel some of the "funnier" storylines or more accurately, the comedy/jokes they have put into these movies have not been good. Without picking apart the MCU, I will simply refer to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2. Although this was a great movie, everybody was given a joke. In the previous Guardians movie, it was simply just Drax who provided the audience with a laugh. In the second movie, it seemed like everyone had a joke and it kind of hampered the movie. This has been the case with a lot of MCU movies of late, so I am sure there is more than a handful of people who don't mind some silliness and jokes but not to be laughing all the time. I guess one argument is, they do this to balance out the heaviness of some of the themes, but...I don't know, some movies do it better than others. Thor: Ragnarok to Thor: Love and Thunder is an example of that.
The music in the trailer has me. The music in the Guardians movies has all been great so for this trailer, it is simply continuing a standard, but this music! It is possible that, due to learning that this will be the last movie with the current team lineup, the music just hits me differently as there are rumours that members of the team will die, like...die die. No coming back type of die. There will be stakes in this movie and the runners-up are Dave Batista as Drax the Destroyer and Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon. If done well, we will have some much-needed levity and humour, hopefully, provided by Drax and Mantis (I cannot be the only person who finds Mantis' background antics hilarious), but I do believe this movie will draw out the tears. We have spent some time with this loveable group and to see any of them actually die, I do believe will be heart-wrenching. That scream from Peter Quill in this trailer looks like real pain and loss. Deep breath guys. We can do this together.

This is a movie that is set after the events of Endgame and before the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3. If you have seen Endgame, you will have an idea of where we are with the team and what their plans are going forward. With that said, it seems as though this movie is the bridge between Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 and Volume 3 which is here to inform us, the audience, of particular events that have occurred between the last time we saw them to when we get to see them next without going into too much detail and drawing out the third film with explanations and such. And while this movie was far from needed, this extended prologue to the upcoming movie is great and maybe, everything I hope Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 is.
The Holiday Special centers around the Christmas holidays and cheering up Star-lord aka Peter Quill who seems to be down around this time due to Gamora not being around. Both Mantis and Drax set out on a journey to Earth thinking they have the best idea to help bring a smile to Peter's face by bringing him a present from Earth, something he loved as a child, by hijinx ensue.
This is a short and delightful film. It explains a lot that has happened since Endgame and I can only assume, it lends a help-in-hand to not having to explain anything in Volume 3, but the film also helps to flesh out the characters of Drax and Mantis a lot more. As Mantis was introduced in Guardians Volume 2 and we also saw her in Avengers: Infinity War, we truly get to explore more of her character here and her dynamics with Drax.
Charming and funny. I loved watching this as I had a right ol' giggle at these characters. Drax should be one of the only people who will bring the jokes because Volume 2 seemed like everyone had a joke and that ruined the movie for me. I do lowkey think Mantis is by far one of the silent killer scene stealers who provides the most laughs. Introduced in Volume 2 and we get to see her in Infinity War, if you simply just watch her, she does things in the background which is hilarious. Her angry face when Star-lord says, "let's put on our angry faces", when she is creeping forward when the Guardians are creeping on Nowhere, on Titan bouncing around in zero gravity, she is absolutely hysterical. Drax on this occasion has evolved and he is a lot better. He is more of a team player and also funny, you know like he should be. Bautista owns this role so it would be a shame to see him go after Volume 3.
The prize for Quill is hilarious and while I am not sure of the actual mechanics of the MCU at this point, the gags are great and the film helps to provide a warming sensibility to it whilst telling a story about one person's experience of the festive holiday and the friends who come together to help cheer him up, endearing and sweet.
It goes without saying that the visuals are immaculate. The music, is even better. The intro music was terrific and the practical effects were also good. At this point, all the actors know who their characters are and the performances show this. This is definitely, a rewatch, but it would be very interesting to see what happens in Volume 3 because I have heard, this is the last time we will see this version of the team, together and with a new trailer for volume 3, which has to be dropping soon, I just love this team. They may seem incapable of anything, but let us just remember, they took out the Avengers swiftly in 'Infinity War' and that should definitely tell you something about the team's dynamics and poise.

First of all, this looks like fun. Second of all, this looks like FUN! What I definitely will say though, are they throwing every single thing in Mario lore into this, because it sure looks like it. I am yet to see Mario Paint, Dr. Mario, Mario Tennis and maybe a few other things, but it really does look like EVERYTHING is in this movie. Could they have space for a sequel and include new things? I mean it IS all about franchises, right?
Third of all, WAS THAT CRANKY KONG!? It was definitely a blink-and-you-will-miss-it moment, so if true, seeing Diddy and Dixie Kong will absolutely blow my mind! I am an old-school gamer (not that old, like Atari) but NES, SNES etc and although I do not remember beating Donkey Kong Country or Donkey Kong Country 2, these were platform games of a generation lost. It was not that long ago I was wondering if these platform games can return as the gaming industry is being swept up by genres that include shooters, RPGs, racing and sandbox open-world games. Unless I am mistaken, where are those classic platformers you remember from the '80s and '90s?
This trailer definitely brought a smile to my face when I saw the racoon suit, whilst the fire flower was pretty much standard. I had a few laughs and the nostalgia was at an all-time high. It would be interesting to see if there are ways that Mario could potentially "die" but not die, but what can cause him actual harm as we saw the fish latch onto his face, though, if you were playing the game, you would have died, no? Also, will we see Mario eat a sacred mushroom which will enable him to grow double in size? It was great to see the dinosaurs running (I am assuming Yoshi's species) and the introduction of Mario Kart which seemed a little out of place, but whatever! I am sure it will make sense in the movie. Also, considering how Wreck-It Ralph was excellent and how they celebrated computer games, as well as elements of Ready Player One which did the same, I am wondering how they will handle Luigi though, because Luigi has always been second fiddle nobody really cared about...and it IS called Super Mario Bros.
Ok, ok, ok! Bowser coming in hot! This is just a teaser trailer but this looks great. When this film was announced with Chris Pratt doing the voice of Mario, I rolled my eyes. Like, why Chris Pratt? It could have been ANYONE other than Chris Pratt. I mean, it could have been an actual Italian actor. So, now that the trailer is actually here, we can voice out our opinions on how terrible Pratt sounds, how it was terrible casting, how he doesn't even sound like Mario, that we think the "Itsa me, Mario" is too hammy, but guess what, this works! This actually works!
The trailer is only a teaser, but having Bowser coming in wrecking shop and having these blue "Twitter birds" defending themselves with honour only for Bowser to further destroy the castle himself, is excellent. A goon! A fire-spitting monster that looks like, if Godzilla had a turtle shell. I liked this little intro. Then having been introduced to Mario, in a strange new world, meeting Toad and actually hearing Chris Pratt's voice and he actually doesn't sound like Chris Pratt, reminds me of how Bradley Cooper doesn't sound like himself as Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy. This looks good. A slight Lego Movie feel, slight...but this could actually be really good.
It seems we are slowly circling back to one of the big three. We had Ironman, we had Captain America and now we have Thor with his 4th film, 'Love and Thunder and this looks great. A continuation of where we left off with these characters in 'Avengers: Endgame' and Thor goes off with 'The Guardians of the Galaxy' and this is obviously where we pick up with Thor, seemingly not wanting to fight anymore and looking for his purpose in life. In 'Avengers: Infinity War', Thor lets us know who he has lost in his life and it seems, the guardians are going to be the team that may help centre him, along with any of the threats that may lie ahead.
This Teaser Trailer is great though. That end shot with a female "God of Hammers" (giggle), looks epic and it seems as though we are going to have a lot of fun with these characters while Thor is obviously going through something here. I think it is also good to remember that, Taika who also directed the last movie did an excellent job with Thor: Ragnorok and I'm not sure if there will be another two movies for Hemsworth after this, but if this movie is great, why not!? Af for continuity, what happened to his right eye? The Official Trailer will be a telling sign if Marvel still have it...at the moment, with this trailer and how Moon Knight has been soo far, it really looks like they have. First of all, I'm still awaiting on 'Cowboy, Ninja, Viking', a movie which was meant to star Chris Pratt i heard many many moons ago...maybe something like 5 years ago or more. Secondly, I'm still awaiting 'Y: The Next Man' or is it, 'Y: The Last Man'? I can't remember the exact title but I think the latter and was also meant to star Chris, I think, so hearing about this and also seeing a trailer threw me because I never heard of it until now. There could be reasons for that and if I'm honest, this film has great ideas, a great premise and a decent enough execution, but the film as a whole, was...well, a good romp! I'll explain.
Dan Forester (Chris Pratt) is an ex-soldier and science teacher with a wife and daughter. On the night of a football/Soccer game, Dan receives news he didn't get a job he applied for and whilst watching the football game, the game is interrupted by time-travellers from the future who state the human race will be extinct in 30 years and that they have returned from the future to draft more able bodies to help fight the war in the future. Dan is enlisted, which means he will need to travel into the future to save the world and everyone on it from extinction.
The premise is cool. The visuals are great. the enemy is excellent and the story is good. Where this film breaks down for me, is some of the dialogue choices and the third act. I felt the third act felt rushed and unimaginative. I understood it all but after and excellent 2 acts, the third felt like waste! Even some moments at the very end and something Dan does and I thought "Really???" Dan is not a superhero, he is a mere man who can die from a headshot to the face. But this feat he pulls off was beyond super heroic.
The acting was great although I felt Sam should have had a little bit more to do as I liked his character and his small character arc. His teleportation at the end was random to me and unnecessary...oh and unbelievable. J.K . Simmons was excellent as always and so was Chris Pratt. There was a moment at the beginning where these two are talking and something is said and the delivery and the action was poor. It seems like terrible acting between the both of them so it felt weird to me. I also thought Edwin Hodge was great too and I like his story, it felt different, especially when you combine his and Sam's characters who were complete opposites. But besides these things, I loved the visuals, some of the camera choices and there were some real brutal deaths where I would audibly make a sound. But all in all, I think I might have felt a little let down in the cinema so the Amazon Prime watch was great. I just felt they could have done a touch more and it would have been great. Maybe even drop the third act altogether, I don't know, something just felt a little off by the end, like the movie was a touch too long, yet I've seen longer movies. Maybe, we could have done without some of the elements in act two to maybe clean up the movies and streamline it. I'd definitely watch again though.

This looks amazing! A quarter of the way through this trailer and I was thinking "Ohhhh, Netflix has....oh, oh it's Amazon? Well, Amazon are giving Netflix a run for their money!" This looks soo good. Obviously it helps that I like Chris Pratt since Parks and Recreation and he is great as Starlord, but the story to this looks very decent, engaging and entertaining. I got a little Fallout 3 vibes from it too.
So, what is it really? One war in the future and over time in the past, people are being drafted to fight in this war? Or is it a long war over time, but in the past over time, people are being drafted t fight in this war? I'm trying to get my head around it. It seems to me it is one big war over time and in order to win, they need to keep drafting people from the past until the war is won. And like the lady said, nobody comes back from the future, because these aliens are taking them out, so it's up to Chris Pratt, Dan, to help win the war so he can come back to his daughter. Hmmm, Terminator vibes too, no? I mean if time travel is involved, can this not go on forever? Well, this looks pretty decent, let's hope it is.

The music is pants! The music provides a level of epicness but it doesn't do enough for the trailer because the trailer is too short and the epicness is not felt. 50 seconds! Yes it is a teaser trailer but, maybe with the official trailer, Amazon will have me fully involved with the quality music providing that necessary umph we need.
The film looks good. Mankind travelling to the future to fight a war with an unknown alien species...sounds wild. Would be even more wild if the unknown alien species came from further in the future and were humans that had turned into what they are and have to travel back in time to try and stop it from happening but end up in a war...lol. Either way, colour me intrigued. Besides, who doesn't like Pratt?

From the creators of Incredibles and "" as a Disney Pixar movie? I'm definitely involved. It seems as though they have got World of Warcraft infused with a family dynamic and modern day "everyday life" spin that will make it an interested movie. I liked the Half-way dad and the dressing up making seem like a full sized adult, it gave me some giggles. Besides, I like Chris Pratt, Octavia Spencer and Tom Holland, so it would be nice to hear their voices give life to these characters. I'll go to see this when this comes out.

We can only marvel at the marvellous way Marvel have managed to miraculously manipulate us by manifesting and making multiple movies with many mini story-arcs that eventually mount up to a massive match with a force with such the momentum of mammoth-like magnitude, us viewers and heroes alike, will be tested. Furthermore, Marvel and Kevin Feige will be tested as this has never been done before in history, ever. It has all been building to this. 20 Films has led us to this point. How did it fair?
Well, I don't want to go into this soo much as I've covered most of the Marvel Movies since Day 1. Iron Man (ok, maybe not that one), Iron Man 2 all the way up to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.1 & Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Black Panther. The Former being a shot in the dark to the latter grossing $1,346,913,161 Worldwide. Very pale in comparison to $585,174,222 for Iron man when they first started. Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe money making machine, all chaperoned by our lord saviour Kevin Feige has a very impressive resume and what he has done, may never be done again, EVER! Or at least in the near future. Setting trends hundreds of other movie studios have tried to copy successfully and lots of them failing and falling at the first hurdle. Having a Franchise is ALL the rage right now and this is why.
Our Heroes are now facing the biggest bad they have ever faced, Thanos (Josh Brolin) who is on a quest to meet the goals he has set by collecting all the Infinity Stones to wipe out HALF of all life. Whilst Iron Man and Captain America are still on the outs, both individuals soon gather their own separate teams to combat Thanos and his forces called 'The Dark order'. When things start to look dire, our heroes decide to take the fight to Thanos...but do they succeed?
Other than seeing what you saw in the Trailers (if you watched the trailers, of course), I cannot go into any more details without spoiling the movie. But I've got to say, from the two brothers that has brought us 'The Winter Soldier' (blowing us all out the water! I mean, who is Captain America? Lame!!!), then bringing us 'Civil War' (with the big Airport Scene!) and then this, these guys are definitely on a roll. And to think they are tidying up the sequel to this movie they have already shot and possibly placing a nice tidy bow over the MCU at this point, we will see, but in short, this movie is great!
The acting, the visual, the scope. The interaction between the characters and the combinations. Remember when you saw Spider-Man holding onto War Machine in Civil War as he jetted through the air, yeah, there are similar crazy combinations of characters who wouldn't necessarily cross paths and do. The interactions between the characters are great and provide good comic relief to a movie that is very dense.
It's really a matter of, we have come soo far in the MCU and The Russo brother have done soo well up until this point, I feel they have stuck the landing. If you have enjoyed the films up until this point, you ought to love this movie. Let's just hope Endgame is just as Big and Bad as Thanos in the first 5 minutes of the movie. If you don't get that reference, go watch it!
Marvel Studios took a huge gamble with Guardians of the Galaxy by making this comic into a film. If you did not know, in which you ought to, the over arching storyline regarding the Marvel Cinematic Universe films are, Thanos wants to destroy EVERYTHING! I'm not entirely sure if it is all life on particular planets or all life as we know it, but he wants to destroy EVERYTHING. This is the nature of his character. In order for him to do that, I believe, would be to Ashley Catchem the 6 or so Infinity Gems/Stones, attach them to the Infinite Gauntlet and he would be able to do whatever he pleases. He would be unstoppable.
So, to understand this a touch further over the films, Captain America: The First Avenger and Avengers Assemble, deal with the Tessaract which is a Infinity Stone. There are rumours that there is another Infinity Stone in Avengers Assemble, but we will not see that, I'm assuming until Avengers: Age of Ultron. The other Infinity Stone was seen in the Thor: The Dark World movie, so that could be 3 so far, and the rest remains to be seen over the background story arc over the next few films.
Guardians of the Galaxy, is a film which is to bridge the gap between Earth and the cosmos. Although this was achieved with Thor, in this film, you get a better sense of a wider and greater existence of space, spaceships and aliens along with an imminent threat which spans across not only Earth, but the Galaxy as we know it or not know it. I'll explain.
The film starts off with a young Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) who is seen being abducted from Earth with his little backpack and Walkman. You then see him 20 years later exploring a derelict planet for an artefact. Think of it as Tomb Raider meets Indiana Jones, but in space. He Stumbles across Korath the Pursuer (Djimon Hounsou) in which he narrowly escapes, heads to Xander, the home of the Nova Corps in which he gets into a situation which leaves him imprisoned. At this point, he teams up with 4 other guys, Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) & his friend Groot (Vin Diesel) who decide to work together from that point onwards for a greater cause, sort of. There is a lot more to the film, but I would be spoiling it. Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace), along with Nebula (Karen Gillian), under directions from Thanos (Josh Brolin), go after the artefact, currently being held by Star Lord and they find themselves in an entanglement between Ronan the Accuser, Yondu and the significance of the artefact in their possession. The Guardians of the Galaxy must come together and make the right choice.
This film for me was NOT the best Marvel film of this year, as I do believe, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is, but is most definitely a great film. The film doesn't take itself too seriously and the characters are weird and wonderful with a lot of depth. The film is visually, stunning and you really do get a feel of space and the many different worlds you see. A little bit like Thor, but greater. Most of all, the film is very funny. The characters work very well together, although their dynamic is weird and with their depth, they more or less bounce off one another as they work as a team.
My only faults I found with this movie, was that, the villain could have been explored a little more have been a bit more villainy. Also, although everyone more or less had a back story, it would have been nice to go that little bit deeper with the back stories of the Guardians and I did feel that Gamora, being the universes most deadliest assassin was watered down and I just didn't see enough from her.
But with that said, A great film to watch. Very entertaining. It is like watching Avengers: Assemble again but with a weird looking cast and a barrel of laughs. Go out and see it before the sequel comes out.
