(trailer review) - The Mandalorian: Season 3

It was only four months ago we were teased with a teaser trailer for season 3 of The Mandalorian. While I knew it was coming since the ending of season 2 (I think it was said at the time), we had to wait for Boba Fett to air before we got the reveal and this marvelous official trailer. Maybe they did not know where they were going with the show and (I say this loosely) rushed out Boba Fett to spend more time on this third season ironing out the story, the kinks, the...Mandalore, if you will, because The Book of Boba Fett was ok, just ok. The Mandalorian episode was great, in comparison to the other episodes, but this trailer for season 3 looks well thought out, well written and just damn well near excellently executed.

While it seems as though Din is explaining to Grogu how to be a Mandalorian in this trailer (I think, to be a Bounty Hunter, to be fair), the trailer shows us, lots of different Mandalorian in different Mandalorian suits. A shot where it looks like Mandalore was bombed, a shot of the welder Mandalorian who claims Din now has issues for taking off his helmet, so now he is on his way to seek forgiveness, but little does he know (well in The Clone Wars cartoons), NOT taking off your helmet, is NOT a thing. Everyone took off their helmets, only the "clan" Din followed, did not (besides, this was also mentioned in season 2). It is going to be an interesting season, one I hope ends or goes on hold to then go into a series like Game of Thrones for the fight to rule Mandalore. Imagine, all the different Mandalorian Clans trying to rule Mandalore. And although we do not see Bo Katan, she IS the rightful ruler, right? The short with the Mandalorian "Para-rocketing" from the "drop-ship" is a beautiful shit. Also, a bar full of droids, astromechs and Clankers...March 1st could not get here sooner.

(trailer review) - Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

"I don't have to win, we both just have to lose". I mean, that trailer is a major step up from the last trailer as if the first trailer was just not good enough. What is Marvel doing? We cannot say, "well Phase 4 isn't good so they had to step up with this movie to get everyone back on track". People need to understand, Marvel is a very well oiled machine at this point. This movie has been completed and shot, ages ago. Marvel have hit the hard reset button after Endgame and whilst we are all thinking what and why and how, Marvel are thinking when. It is 3D chess they are playing here and if Black Panther Wakanda Forever did not show you that, this movie will.

You see, I believe Phase 4 is the introduction to many things. Laying the breadcrumbs for everything else we are about to witness in the next few phases. We are thinking about Phase 4 and 5 whilst they are outlining Phase 7, 8 and possibly 9. A lot of things do not seem to make sense right now, but it will, especially having heard that this movie is in the vain of an Avengers movie. I even said as much in my last trailer review "This trailer looks great. Although labelled the 'official trailer', that second trailer is going to hit different and I am pretty sure, it is going to be the one that pulls you in". "However, I do not believe this trailer does enough to pull us in yet, to confirm to us, this is a must see." And what is this trailer doing to you right now?

This trailer is great! I am even under the impression that Scott may not even make it out. I am also under the impression, Kang will not make it out, but in the trailer, it says "witness the beginning of a new Legacy" and if you are not aware, the next avengers movie is called Kang Legacy. I am telling you, this movie will be the catalyst that will bring fourth the future and the past and make it all make sense. I mean, even M.O.D.O.K looks great! M.O.D.O.K in live action...great! The future is bright and the future is here and Kang, he is going to be a problem. Let's just hope Johnathan Majors has signed a 9 picture deal, as I need to see more of this guy. Menacing! Oh...and the MUSIC!!!

(trailer review) - Evil Dead Rise

When it comes to horror, I definitely pick and choose. Ghostly possessions based on real stories is a hard pass for me, while something like a Paranormal Activity is a "ok, I'll watch that". However, films like Hellraiser and skin/flesh mutilation makes me feel uneasy in my body. I cannot even watch Holby City without winching. This trailer though, I am on the fence.

This trailer first off, was cool. I have not really been interested in the Evil Dead franchise but I think I have seen the third one a very very long time ago. I think I was a child when I watched it many moons ago, but I was under the impression and understanding that the franchise was about Zombies - this looks incredibly different. I know the trailer says evolved, but this is coming across to me as somewhat supernatural. Floating above water for example. I am on the fence. The box grater and the scalping...blimey. I will need to see another trailer as this red band one was good but did not hold back. Maybe a green band trailer will be a better watch, not to say I did not like the red band trailer, I did, but let's just see if I am more sold on the movie with the next one.
