(trailer review) - Jurassic World: Chaos Theory

And Just like that! The franchise that is the Jurassic Park or World, for that matter, is back after a 14 year absence. So you understand what I mean, let me break it down for you. Jurassic Park came out in 1993. A great film which probably stands as still the best Jurassic movie. Four years later, The Lost World: Jurassic Park (Jurassic Park 2) came out and four years later, Jurassic Park 3. The films declined in quality since the first one and then there was a 14 year "break". The franchise was resurrected and and in came Jurassic World in 2015, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in 2018 and Jurassic World Dominion in 2022. Whilst again, these films have declined in quality, a little (and I wanted to argue the fact they were pumping these out every few years), I think the main issue with these films (and most films if we really think about it) is the quality of the storytelling. Just so you are aware as well, There is another Jurassic World movies coming out in the next few year directed by Gareth Edwards, the man behind, Monsters, Godzilla, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story & The Creator (a film I loved). So it is hard to say if it will be any good but we will see.

I say all that to say this: - This trailer looks great and I think it is the story that is doing it for me. Whilst giving me a Big Hero 6 vibe with the animation, the story looks like there is more depth to what is going on. A shady corporation/organisation using Dinosaurs to track people and kill them, maybe? I am not sure of the motive but imagine having that level of control. What did these kids see? Are we going to see these kids or people ripped into two etc, probably not, but I like the sluethness of it all and trying to find out what is going on and bring it to light or trying to stop it. I cannot say I watched Dominion but I think I watched Lost Kingdom and I thought it was alright and Jurassic World was good, but of they really want to branch out and do more with the franchise, this is definitely the way to do it. Maybe another trailer would do it more justice, but so far, I am interested.
